Weekend

Well, it’s Friday night.  I made it through the week.  It was pretty rough.  It was a lot of information that I tried to cram into my head.  Looks like most of it took.  My test is on Monday.  I’ve been preparing for it for many months.

It’s funny, a long time ago when I worked at Best Buy, I hatched a plan to drop everything, and move to San Francisco, and one day get my CCIE.  I stopped caring about moving a while ago, and I went through a period of time where I wasn’t interested in the technology field.  But here I am, in San Francisco, about to attempt my CCIE.  It’s really weird if you think about it.

So tomorrow I’m going to do some decompressing.  I’m not much on tourism, but there are a couple things I want to do while I’m here.  I want to visit City Lights bookstore and buy a Kerouac book, and I’d like to visit the San Francisco Zen Center.  Other than that, I don’t have much of an agenda.  I’m thinking I might drived over the Golden Gate bridge and go see some Redwoods.  Maybe re-enact the final scene in Vertigo.

Speaking of weird movies, I saw a thing on 20/20 tonight about a guy who filmed the GG Bridge for a year and captured like 20 suicides.  Apparently the Golden Gate Bridge is the place where more people have killed themselves than anywhere else on Earth.  Pretty creepy.

Anyway I am going to bed.  I’ve only been here a week, but my sense of time is all jacked up.

You can’t go to SF without going to Alcatraz. Go to China town and watch all the people playing Chinese poker in the park. There’s a place there called the Stinking Rose where everything is cooked with garlic. It’s great. City Lights is pretty rockin’. I got a great Bob Dylan photo there. Where are you staying?

I didn’t get to go to alcatraz. not enough time. I only had one day to do the siteseeing. I did go to chinatown, and city lights. I also walked the Golden Gate Bridge.

I’m not staying anywhere good. I’m in Milpitas, about half an hour from SF. It smells like a dump on fire here at night.
