Class from 8 AM to 10 PM today, and we’re still behind schedule. But I’ve already learned a lot. It’s a bit overwhelming, but the instructor is good. He’s a short Indian guy named Vinny (no lie) who used to be a Marine. He’s got some kick ass stories.

So anyway I’m fuckin exhausted from Day 1, so i’m going to bed.

I’m in DC now. I flew in at about 3:00pm today, got my rental car, and have been chilling at the hotel. There’s a Carraba’s Italian grill and a Chik-fil-A next door, so i predict I’ll be eating like a king for the next 2 weeks.

So I’m here for a specifi reason. I’m spending the next 2 weeks in Cisco boot camp. I get next Sunday off and that’s it. I’ll be training for 12 hours a day on Cisco voice over IP equipment. When I’m done, I should be able to pass all my CCVP tests within 2 weeks. I’m pretty excited. I’ll get to be my company’s first CCVP.

I’ll write more tomorrow night, and give you a better idea of how hard this is going to be.

I’m still playing World of Warcraft. It’s still a lot of fun. Yeah I’m a computer geek. This is no surprise to anyone who has known me.

However! I’ve decided to start doing the responsible thing and study for my CCVP certs. I’ll only be playing WoW on Saturday nights, all the other time will be devoted to passing these tests. I’ve got 5, and I’ll have them done by the end of May. Cisco omgwtfpwned FTW!

On another note, I’ve become addicted to caffeine again. In fact, I just drank a latte with 4 shots in it. My eyes are open wide right now.

Also, my wife Meg has begun to create her own bead-based jewelry and let me tell you, she’s got talent. She sat down yesterday and was able to copy a design from a catalog almost exactly on her first try. So she’s begun to formulate a plan to create her own online store and sell her wares. I’m gonna try to help her get the web presence. Cause when it comes to jewelry that’s about all the expertise i can contribute.

OK the stimulants are taking effect. Time to hit the books (pdfs).

OK, so it’s a week late but happy new years.

What was your first word of the year? We used to keep track. I totally forgot to remember this year though. In fact, I think i’ve gone 7 years without keeping track.
