Report from the Emerald City
OK, I’ve had a long day. In case you didn’t know, I hate to fly. It stresses me the hell out. My flight, as far as flights go, went great. Hardly any turbulence. But muscles I didn’t know I had were tensed and clenched throught the whole 5 hour ordeal and my whole body aches now.
I checked in with the office, found they didn’t need me until tomorrow, and went down to check out Pike Place down by the water. The drive was nice, it was already dark by 5 and the city lights were bright by the water. Seattle is a really beautiful place. I spent about an hour walking around checking the place out. Didn’t really find a place I wanted to eat at, so I just got some coffee and headed back to the hotel. I’m beat. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. I’ll try to make it back down there after work tomorrow.
The Man in the Mirror is a lazy bum
It’s plain to see that I’m a lazy bum. Not in all aspects of my life, but certainly in regards to fitness. I love riding my bike but I’m too lazy to do it. Anyhoo, I got this email today from the Winter Bike League and it made me feel like a complete waste. Here is this group of folks obviously having a great time riding during the winter, which is my favorite season of them all. And I’m too out of shape to go on the rides. The shitty part is that I won’t be in shape enough by the end of the season if I start riding right now.
This has got to change. I know that I could be a great bike rider if I just spent a little time and energy at it. I have to come up with some kind of way to get in some rides. I can still ride in the Brasstown Bald Buster but I’m running out of time to get ready for it.
Seattle WA
Ok, so I’m getting to fly to Seattle for work this week. I leave on Wednesday and fly back on Friday. Despite the fact that my pal Eric is on vacation in New Zealand, I’m still looking forward to having a good time. I think I’ll only be able to see the town on Wednesday night, since I’ll be working all day and night on Thursday and flying back early Friday. I’ve been to Seattle once before, 5 years ago, so I’m looking forward to it. I love it out there. I plan to drink much coffee.
Also, I’m getting back in time to see the Star Room Boys Treo play at the Caledonia on Saturday night. I’ve been looking forward to that for a month now.
I’ve been studying for my next certification test. Cisco IP Telephony. I’ll be tested on my knowledge of the Cisco CallManager product, which, incidentally, I’ll be installing next week for the first time. I’m glad that I’m finally getting my hands on some serious VoIP product. Hopefully it’ll get me motivated for the next round of tests, which aren’t going to be easy.
