I smell a rat. It’s impossible that all of Discovery sucked so bad today. Is it possible that this was just tactics? Johan Bruyneel has been known to screw with the other teams by having Lance and other riders play sick. Could they be drawing the other riders out, having them attack thinking that Discovery is weak?
We’ll see over the next few days.

Oh Chris, that’s an optimistic thought (for this Lance fan).
I’m thinking Discovery can’t handle multiple attacks from T-Mobile and CSC and all the Lone Rangers that are hunting for a page in history.
Bruyneel needs to entertain a strategy that surrenders the yellow jersey tomorrow and force Armstrong’s competition to race against each other through the Alps, while Team Discovery licks some wounds, recovers, and limits the time losses.
Then, in the Pyrenees, they can attack the weakened competition.
We’ll see…

I think that’s a good idea. I am perhaps overly optimistic that this was all tactics. I just find it so hard to believe that ALL of Discovery got dropped on that climb. It really must have been bad.
Tomorrow will be important. I think I may have to get up at 6:30 to watch it!
